Local produce and local crafts

Special breads
Typical dishes made with local produce are on the menu of village restaurants: famous spring asparagus, Alsatian horseradish and mild mustard accompanying the sauerkraut, chestnut blood sausage and autumn game, typical potato “galettes” (grumbereknepfle) and bread and beer invented in Bischwiller!
Cleebourg

Wines and beers

The cellar of Cleebourg, ranked 3rd amongst Alsatian cellars, brings together all the high quality wine producers of different grape varieties. Visits are possible followed by a tasting.
Hop land, north Alsace produces its quality beers in two craft breweries in Uberach and Marienthal. Warm welcome, visit and tasting.
Eau-de-vie production, due to the presence of the orchards, is also run by craftsmen in Uberach and Lobsann: you can visit and taste.
Daniel Rebert

Chocolate delights

Chocolate lovers will be delighted to learn that north Alsace is home to well-known and creative chocolate craftsmen. In Wissembourg, the maison Rebert is a must-see and organises chocolate workshops on request.
In Haguenau, the Stoffel producer has made its chocolate sweets famous throughout the world!

Culinary or decorative pottery

To decorate your table, simmer sauerkraut or prepare homemade vinegar, don’t miss the two pottery villages that have made a reputation for themselves in the region: Betschdorf and Soufflenheim. Some of them offer creative workshops for making your own crafts.
